Well the gals been to fords for its 110000 service and to have the ABS light sorted out. Had a phone call regarding the ABS and this is what they found. ABS ring has a crack , which is why the light is on. To fix it a new ring has to be fitted, but as it comes as part of the drive shaft/CV joint a new one of these has to be fitted, the cost being

I had the same problem with the light staying on, bought a new cv joint(with abs ring) for 55 pound from local motor factors. i think you have paid well over the odds.
